Mark & Jessica Hagen

Founders of Headwaters Discipleship & The Wild Goose Collective

Mark and Jes are passionate Christ followers, believing that the measuring stick of all we do should be how much love is produced. They are the creators and collaborators based out of The Harbour at Riondel and have a passion to see young adults encounter the love of Jesus through creativity, community and creation. If they aren’t found painting, making music, or hosting people around their kitchen table; they can be found out on an adventure on this beautiful property with their three kids (Weston, Brody, and Anika) and their dog Thora. They are eager to share this space, and their hearts, with the people they encounter.

Mark and Jes are missionaries who raise support for a portion of their salaries.

We are so excited to welcome Christian and Molly Hoff back to be a part of Headwaters again this spring! They are thrilled to come back to the Kootenays and are looking forward walking alongside a new group of students, as they experience God working in their hearts throughout this program.

They have been living in Christian’s hometown of San Pedro, CA, while he goes to school to pursue a career in Special Education. Molly has been spending her time experimenting in the kitchen and volunteering at Trinity San Pedro with their children and youth programs. Together they have enjoyed exploring local restaurants and coffee shops, time with Christian’s family and their young adult group, and weekend getaways to see a bit more of California.

During Headwaters they will be involved in various areas of Leadership. Some key areas will be our outdoor program, cooking, leading worship, helping at Ro. Neighbourhood Coffee, and contributing to the richness of our community life.

Ayal Heinrichs

We are beyond thrilled to welcome Ayal Heinrichs on staff for Headwaters Discipleship 2024!.

Ayal is a potter who is passionate about creating objects that bring beauty and sacredness into the mundane moments of daily life. Clay is a wonderful material with the potential for discovery, growth, and transformation. The act of creating with clay has become a form of worship for Ayal as she becomes more aware of the relationship between how she forms clay and how God is forming her heart. She is beyond excited to be joining Headwaters’ staff and to share her passion with students as they learn to encounter God through the challenging and rewarding process of making with clay.

Ayal is an alumni of Headwaters and while here she will be teaching one of our creativity classes-pottery and will be pouring into the lives of our students in a variety of ways.
